Terrain Description and Course notes: This map has plenty of challenging terrain for a long distance event. The vegetation is not very dense, but dead-fall in some areas can make for slow running in the forest. Allow for some minor changes in vegetation since the map was originally mapped.
There are very big hills on the map and the courses all have some climb. The climb is less than 90m total climb for M/W8 M/W10, M/W12, and M/W75. Those runners on the most difficult courses (M/W20, M/Welite, M/W35, M/W45, M/W55 and M65) should expect plenty of climb and some beautiful views!
The area is open to the general public during the race, so please be aware of mountain bikers and hikers.
The start/finish arena and the kids courses may contain grazing cattle.

Directions
Driving directions: From Calgary go west on Highway 1, then south on Highway 22, go past Bragg Creek staying on Highway 22 (do not take the Highway 758 short-cut as it was washed out by the flood), go west on Highway 66 across the one-way bridge (there is a stop light and you may have to wait). Proceed about 3 km and turn left at the entrance to the Paddy Flats group camping (you will pass the crossing to the start/finish arena, but please continue to the Paddy Flats group camping). The parking will be in the group camping area.
